I love this book! It covers various Asian cuisines although I have mostly made Chinese and Thai recipes so far. Every recipe I have tried has turned out great. My only gripe about the book is that many recipes are split over two pages so you have to keep flicking back and forth while cooking.

I really love this book and so do my friends! The book has so many versatile recipes, gives you a convenient shopping list, encourages creativeness when cooking. The recipes will make your mouth water and you will be making these easy exotic meals in the time it takes you to make rice!

This book is exactly what I was expecting it to be...a quick survey of several regions that will allow me to decide which ones are my favorites and select any future, in depth books accordingly. I've just started using these recipes, but everything so far has been fast, easy, healthy, and delicious. I would suggest this book for anybody who, like me, enjoys eating 'Asian' foods and would like a nice, easy introduction to making them at home.

Good book, lots of great recipes in here that we have enjoyed testing out.

This cookbook promises quick and tasty meals, and it delivers. The variety of recipes allows you to sample the tastes of a region without commitment to any one of them. It is a great way I to introduce yourself and your family to Asian cooking.I gave this book as a gift. Cook is happy. Family is happy.

Just what I wanted.

So I'll admit, I go this book and it sat...and sat...and sat...I didn't touch it for the first year and a half that I owned it and I couldn't give you a good reason as to why (my head kept getting turned by other things).But recently, I've picked it up again and have found a wealth of recipes to choose from. I'm Filipino and I felt that the Philippines was pretty underrepresented in the dishes, and in fact Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore were all pretty skimpy. I will say that this book heavily skews toward Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes.But you know what, so far everything I've made from this book has been tasty, relatively simple and easily adjusted based on what I have on hand. I usually double most recipes (most recipes say they make 2 - 3 servings) but I keep the meat at 12 oz and pump up the veggies in order to keep calories and fat reasonable and make 4 servings out of a dish. My caveat to that is that my main go to piece of cookware is a 16 inch round bottomed wok with a wok ring, but I think you could also have success with a deep 12 inch skillet.I do like how at the beginning of each country she has a listing of 'pantry ingredients' so you know what kind of ingredients you need. I admit, my pantry skews Asian so things like fish sauce, rice vinegar, different types of soy sauce, etc I always have on hand. For someone just starting out that might not have these ingredients, you would need to buy some of the basics but the benefit of Asian condiments is that they last forever. Fish sauce keeps in the pantry for years, the same with soy sauce, miso, etc.As of this writing I've made Chicken with Thai Basil (my thai basil plant was getting out of control), Chili Chicken Stew (using turkey I cut off a turkey thigh that I got on sale), Stir Fried Cod with Bok Choy and Mushrooms and the Thai Style Omelette just to name a few and they've all been good. Every dish I tried so far has been tasty and some have been delicious. Basically I've yet to try a recipe from this book this my family and I have been unwilling to eat.Note though - if you're one of those people who needs/wants lots of pictures of dishes you're out of luck, this has some hand drawings but no pictures (which I don't mind so it's not a drawback for me).So overall this book is a recommended buy. While it seems deceptively simple, and maybe even too simple, once you actually dive in and start cooking, it really starts to shine.
