I must say I was a little apprehensive buying this new book. The last few official releases has fallen a little flat on presenting new information and even as we celebrate Buffy Slays 20, it seems like there really isn't much else new to say.Presenting facts and tidbits in an alphabetized manner is a new way of looking at things. Most show companions or guides go episode by episode, season by season, but I found the structured but random nature of an encyclopedia to actually be exciting. Bouncing back and forth between Buffy, Angel, the comics, is turning out to be a fun way to remember the series I love so dearly.As someone who dove headfirst into the series-continuing comics, I appreciate that the expanded canon is integrated so well into this book. I do hope it spurs more Scoobies into reading the comics.My one gripe may seem petty, and I will admit to that, but this book kind of lacks... Size. I don't know what I was really expecting but when I saw the package on my table, I was kind of disappointed by it. There are some great features in the book but I feel like some entries are throwaways or didn't really receive the love or effort the loyal fans of this series deserve.
This is a great reference for any "Buffy" fan. I don't think they left out any word from the Buffiverse. The only thing I would of liked is a picture for every word, that's the only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars.

I bought this is a gift and the person I gave it to loves it. She just wants to watch Buffy and have this open while doing so, she’s found it very informative and cool.
